Archos GamePad Android based Gaming Console announced


Archos has just introduced a new device to their range in the form of Handheld Gamepad gaming console. Comes in the form of GamePad, which is sports a 7 inch screen and physical controls, including face buttons, shoulder buttons a D-pad and a pair of analog nubbins which resemble the circle pad on Nintendo's 3DS.

Archos GamePad will be powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor accompanied with quad-core Mali 400 MP graphics. This handheld gaming console is running on Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) platform means it can access full services of Google suites like Google Play store and be Google certified device.

The unit also features a patented technology that allows virtual controls to be mapped to the physical controls, with Archos boasting that “ over a thousand” Android apps are already existed in store can be played using the GamePad. It also offers like HDMI output port and microSD card slot to compliment the 8GB of built-in storage capacity. Archos says that the GamePad is coming in October this year with a price start at $188 and according to the source that it will ship simultaneously in both Europe and the US market, maybe soon this device will hit the major market in Asia as well.

Swiss watch maker has ventured into the phone arena and is bringing Tag Heuer Racer crafted the high performance engineered in lightness and toughness design using ultra high-tech design materials. The phone can safely be called as luxury at its best. Tag Huer even claims that the phones have an “unparallel torsion” and strength to weight ratio”, terms usually reserved for cars. The device is base of Android smartphone with 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the body comprised of rubber, titanium and carbon fiber. Inspired by GT and Formula 1 racing cars, and supposedly just used as well-engineered.  It has 1.5GHz quad-core CPU and 1-2GB RAM with great internal memory.


The phone’s exterior is GT car-inspired and has snobbish looks. It is also rumored that the phone has high speed processor. Well, if it’s Tag Heuer it is ought to be. The phone has been made with utmost precision and inculcates no-nonsense attitude. The phone is a lethal combination of performance and luxury as these are inherent in company’s core values.

Also, the device will have customizable 3D user interface that will cater to the specific needs of its owners. It is thoroughly durable with least compromise on style quotient. Its durability takes birth from its shockproof rubber chassis. Moreover, the phone has titanium and carbon fiber bridges for further ruggedness.


Also, the company has not disclosed much of technical specifications. Tag Heuer Racer will be available by July 2012 at the mighty price of $3600. The phone will be available in Tag Heur boutiques, high-end mobile stores and jewelry and luxury watches retail outlets.

Samsung SE-218BB

Samsung has introduced a new external DVD writer, SE-218BB that is touted to be the world’s thinnest external optical disc drive. Measuring just 14mm in height, Samsung says the new ODD is 18 percent thinner and 8 percent lighter than a conventional DVD writer.
However, it’s the functionality that makes it special. For tablets running Android 3.1 OS and above and featuring a full USB port, users can hook the drive to enjoy DVD content on-the-go since it requires a single USB port to power on. Additionally, it also supports the new breed of notebooks known as Ultrabooks. 
 
As for the product, SE-218BB comes with a Buffer Under Run technology, supports Windows as well as Mac operating systems and DVD writing speeds up to 8X.
The SE-218BB will sell for $60.
