It also features a smooth-textured, comfort-designed palm-rest and touchpad, a gorgeous backlit chiclet keyboard, and laser-etched pattern that visually interconnects the speakers and vents with the design details on the anodized aluminum exterior.
The leading-edge combination of uncompromising power and stunning design, the XPS 15z offers 2nd generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processor, optional 15.6-inch Full HD (1080p) display for superior entertainment and web browsing experiences, a backlit keyboard with adjustable brightness. The deck is a slightly darker metallic color than the lid, and the two speaker grilles on either side of the keyboard have a diagonal pattern that continues on the vents on the bottom and back.
It also has two Nvidia discrete graphics (GT 525M) with Optimus technology to automatically swicth to integrated grapgics when discrete is not needed to save on battery. And an integrated Intel HD GPU and using Nvidia's Optimus technology, this models switches between the two based on need. A nice amount of memory with 6GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM coming standard. In some models do have 8GB, though so if you're looking for a notebook that is more future prof, the additional memory may comes in handy. Starting at 5.54lbs (2.51kg) and measuring just 0.97-inch (24.68mm) at its thickest point, XPS 15z is one of the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet.
