KDE: a great alternative for Windows?
When it comes to linux or make people think of Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE and the legacy from GNOME. But besides GNOME is a variant that is quietly developing KDE, KDE remains inherent value from the first version to the latest version 4.8 (Kubuntu 4.12 LTS) is directed to traditional interface familiar to users already use Windows.
I also was a fan of Gnome but current direction of GNOME 3 is different from the habit of using the software on the desktop (mouse + table keys), besides GNOM3 currently not stable. That's why I try to cover KDE economy despite knowing it was a long time.
Minh had to wait 13 KDE Linux mint before the test but also Kubuntu 4.12 LTS to see why. After nearly 1 hour to install the first impression with KDE interface is quite smooth and polished, if those who prefer simplicity at first it feels a bit disappointed that KDE is lucky enough to customize the interface are the following should require little patience and discovery.
The slick interface configured spectacular but do not require high CPU Pentium 4, Atom, Celoron or more, 1G RAM, memory 10GB.
Please introduce people some pictures from computer to share
1.
The main screen you can choose many different types of display screen depending on your interests, will be described below in more detail. Here you select the Desktop icon shows the traditional form.
There are schools full of the popular office email, browser, chat, video VLC, coding .... Ubuntu App Store to install.
bar menu and each user directory
also preview the effect on mouse on the application, you can choose display type applications such as in the picture or as large icons, group by application with a full bar.
Browse not different applications of Windows Aero.
Another favorite is the workspace for you to sort applications, in addition to OS allows you to select effects on mouse on the corners or edges of the screen. I select the top left corner will show this workspace:
2. Popular applications for the office.
This LibreOffice 5.3 is quite stable, but you need to edit and install the most beautiful interface (LibreOffice-kde package to remove after installation then update the menu bar to get beautiful)
You can install Firefox, Chromium (Google Chrome on Linux version), Thunderbird Mail, Opera, ... on the App Store. And google chrome down as it annoys people. Deb on google https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/?hl=en
To install the application, there unikey Vietnamese keyboard is a little different than Ubuntu, I would say at the end.
3. Ability to customize the interface
This is something I would love to be able to create a private and convenient interface with usability of each. Even now I still explore and learn, but requires skills in graphics and some knowledge.
Any custom if located in the System Settings include Application Appearance, Desktop Effects, Workspace Appearance. For example, a window like Windows interface
Customizable user interface on the main screen, you can create your own or use the default interface. For example, this interface is convenient for touch applications you can put up to bar first love, hands to touch and drag the page into applications ...
also Widgets can have you down on the App Store, lets you add in the panel or the main screen as you like, can resize, rotate ...
Ability to customize can say is that there is no limit if you're good at graphics, and a little software knowledge can create their own unique interfaces.
Support a. Install ibus-unikey
To install ibus-Vietnamese keyboard unikey you open up Terminal and type sudo apt-get install - reinstall ibus ibus-unikey gnome-icon-theme gnome-icon-theme-full.
Then go to System Settings -> Locate -> System Languages -> System tab Set Language -> English (United States) -> Keyboard Input somewhat below Medthod -> select ibus. Then logout of the system icons (bottom right) with the keyboard -> click to select Preferences in the Show Language Panel (Vietnamese bar to configure or Always Active When should choose if you cast Username or Telex), Input Method used to select the type here is Unikey.
