Samsung recently revealed the new version of Cromebook series 5 – the Samsung Cromebook Series 5 550. it looks the same as its predecessor, however it has a few important upgrades in terms of hardware and software specs. The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook features a 12.1-inch display, 4GB of RAM, Wi-Fi capability and 3G, an HD webcam and HDMI/DVI/VGA outputs. And gets a processor upgrade an 1.3GHz Intel Celeron 867 dual-core CPU instead of Samsung Cromebook Series 5 last year released Intel Atom running processor. Features a Qualcomm Gobi 3G (EV-DO/ EDGE/ HSPA ) radio instead of Bluetooth 3.0.
it also worth noting that the Chromebox incorporates a half-decent mono speaker and that the aforementioned DVI output supports VGA display via a standard adapter.
Samsung says that the new Chromebook is 2.5 times faster than the previous model, with a boot-time of five second instead of 10 in a real world. Chromebook comes from the fact that the laptop is running the so-called Chorme OS basically an embedded version od Google's Chrome Web browser, and Chromebook works the same way, except there's no way out of that browser.
Chromebooks are fast to use, and don't slow down overtime, they have layers of security built-in so you don't need to buy or install antivirus software. And they have apps for all your everyday needs and keeps your files safely backed up on the cloud storage and with also free automatic updates so that your chromebook keeps getting better and better. The concept sounds cutting-edge instead of Windows or Mac OS, just run a light browser-based OS that offers access to full range of cloud-based applications and services such as, Google's own capable ecosystem (Google, Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar and the like) and do all it all on a thin and light 12-inch laptop that swap features (no hard drive or DVD drive) for good batter life. You'll also get some new functionality from Google's Chrome OS update, which include a new app launcher, customizable background, multi-window support, Google Docs offline editing and a remote desktop app.
Samsung and Google Inc also are introducing a Chromebox that can plugged into a display monitor to create the equivalent of desktop computer. It is built of 1.9GHz dual-core Intel Celeron B840 (Sandy Bridge) CPU with 4GB of RAM and 16GB Solid State Drive with a wireless connectivity is provided in form of Wi-Fi a/b/g and Bluetooth 3.0 radios the latter enabling the use of wireless keyboard and mouse out of the box. Ships without monitor, keyboard and mouse but obviously needs all three – something worth considering if you do not already have necessary accessories. The small form-factor PC sport the latest version of Chrome OS and arrives alongside the new Chromebook Series 5 550, which offers up a meaningful competitor of Apple's Mac OS and the Windows PC OS. A tiny size and simple interface could just make it a viable computer for people who value simplicity and surfing over file management power
